Forcing documents to open in Microsoft Office rather than through a web browser

Found this solution to an issue that bugged me for ages especially with word and excel files, where clicking links to the files would make them open in IE rather than in their application.Launch Windows Explorer.Select “Folder Options…” from the Tools menu.Select the “ile Types”tab.Scroll down the list of “Registered file types” until you find “DOC – Microsoft Word Document” and select it.Click on the “Advanced…“ button at the bottom of the dialog.Uncheck the “Browse in same window” checkbox.
