How to filter a blog posting by an expiry or end date

One thing that doesn’t come out of the box with SharePoint is a method to automatically set an expiry date against a blog posting.

This can be achieved however with some manual configuration to the blog library.Firstly, add a new column to your postings list and call it articleexpirydate or something similar. The edit the view to that post list and configure it to only display content that hasn’t expired by within the filter section.  A typical filter rule could be to show items only when the following is true:
Show the items when column ArticleExpiryDate is greater than or equal to [Today]
The important thing to remember is to filter on a column based on the current date, type [Today] as the column value.  And hey presto.
You may also want to create a view which displays all expired content.  This will require a new filtration rule.
